Residential Property Solicitor - Lymington

Lymington, New Forest | Permanent | Top 100 Law Firm | £40,000 to £65,000 dependent on experience

Most residential property roles on the market right now are volume conveyancing dressed up as something better. This is not one of them.

A Top 100 law firm with a long-established presence in Lymington is looking for a residential property lawyer to join its team on the edge of the New Forest. The caseload is genuinely high quality: town, coast and country properties, often for private clients with wider estate and wealth considerations, and frequently repeat instructions across generations of the same families.

The Role

  • Running your own caseload of sales, purchases, remortgages, lease extensions and transfers of ownership

  • Acting for private clients on higher value and more complex transactions across the New Forest and South Coast

  • Working alongside specialists in tax, private wealth and property disputes when matters need them

  • Operating within a CQS accredited team that deliberately avoids the commoditised, tick-box end of the market

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with solid residential property experience

  • Experience with higher value or complex transactions is useful, but attitude and client care matter more than a specific PQE number

  • Keen to build a practice in a market where clients value service rather than shop on price

Why Consider It

  • Quality of work: clients who instruct on relationship and reputation, not price comparison sites

  • Genuine progression within a growing regional firm

  • A base in one of the most attractive locations on the South Coast, with hybrid working available

This includes conducting searches, reviewing contracts, managing exchange and completion, dealing with lease extensions, and advising on any legal issues that arise during a transaction. In a firm like this, the work also involves higher value properties and clients with more complex estate planning needs.

What salary can a residential property solicitor expect in Lymington?

Salaries for residential property solicitors in the Lymington and New Forest area typically range from £40,000 to £65,000 depending on experience and the quality of work handled. The market for experienced conveyancing lawyers on the South Coast remains strong. For detailed benchmarks, visit the LawBoard salary estimator.

Do I need experience with high-value transactions?

Experience with higher value or more complex residential transactions is useful but not essential. The firm is equally interested in attitude, client care, and a willingness to develop. What matters is the ability to manage a caseload to a high standard and build lasting client relationships.

Is this role open to Chartered Legal Executives?

Yes. The firm welcomes qualified solicitors and Chartered Legal Executives with residential property experience. Both titles carry equivalent caseloads at this firm.

What is the working pattern?

Hybrid working is available. The firm's Lymington office is the primary base, on the edge of the New Forest. Specific arrangements are discussed as part of the recruitment process.
