RecQuest is recruiting a Criminal Solicitor for an established Hampshire practice with a long standing criminal department.

Criminal practices on the South Coast have thinned considerably over the last decade, so a firm still investing properly in the department is worth a look. This is real criminal defence work, police stations and courts, not a paper exercise.

The role

• Advising and representing clients in criminal matters

• Providing legal representation at police stations and in court proceedings

• Managing a diverse caseload, including research and analysis of case facts, legal issues and relevant legislation

• Drafting legal documents including correspondence, proofs, witness statements and pleadings

• Working alongside senior fee earners with training and supervision available

About you

• A minimum of 2 years PQE in criminal law

• Duty solicitor accreditation is preferred, though not essential

• A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel to client meetings and court is required

• Comfortable working independently on your own matters
