Commercial Solicitor - Fareham or Portsmouth

An established Hampshire law firm with offices across the county and the Isle of Wight is looking for a Commercial Solicitor to join its busy commercial team.

The firm

This is a well-known South Coast practice with over 130 years of history and a strong reputation for business law across Hampshire. The firm operates from multiple offices, giving you flexibility on location, and serves a broad client base of SMEs, property investors, developers and owner-managed businesses.

The commercial and corporate team handles company law, commercial contracts, commercial property, M&A, and business advisory work. You would be joining a team that works across the full range of commercial matters rather than being siloed into a single sub-specialism.

The role

You will manage your own caseload of commercial matters, which is likely to include a mix of:

• Commercial contracts (drafting, reviewing, negotiating)

• Company and corporate advisory work

• Business sales and acquisitions

• Shareholder agreements, partnership agreements and corporate governance

• Commercial property support where it crosses over with transactional work

The firm is looking for someone who can work independently on their own files while also contributing to the wider team. There is genuine scope to develop client relationships and take on more responsibility as you settle in.

What you will need

• A current practising certificate (solicitor or CILEX Fellow)

• At least 2 years' PQE in commercial or corporate law (or a strong mix including commercial property with contracts exposure)

• Experience running your own caseload with minimal supervision

• Sound commercial awareness and the ability to communicate clearly with business owner clients
