Commercial Property Paralegal - Bournemouth

Bournemouth | Full time | Office based | £26,000 to £30,000 depending on experience

RecQuest is recruiting on behalf of a well established law firm in Bournemouth that is looking to appoint a Commercial Property Paralegal to join its property team.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in commercial property, not just push paper. You will be working alongside experienced fee earners on real commercial transactions, getting close to the detail and learning the technical substance of the work rather than being kept at arm's length from it.

The firm handles a varied and active commercial property caseload, and the team values paralegals who are organised, proactive and interested in understanding the bigger picture behind the transactions they support.

The role

You will support fee earners across a range of commercial property matters. Depending on your experience, your duties are likely to include:

• Assisting with commercial leases, licences to assign and licences to alter

• Supporting on acquisitions and disposals of commercial premises

• Ordering and reviewing commercial property searches

• Preparing and issuing standard correspondence and documents

• Title review and due diligence tasks

• Land Registry applications and post-completion formalities

• Liaising with clients, agents, landlords, tenants and other solicitors

• File management and case management system updates

The commercial property team handles a genuine mix of work, so you will be exposed to different transaction types and client sectors rather than doing one narrow task on repeat.

About you

This role would suit someone with previous experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or legal secretary within a property environment. Previous commercial property exposure is ideal, though strong residential conveyancing experience with a genuine interest in moving into commercial work would also be considered.

You will need to be:

• Organised and accurate with strong attention to detail

• Confident communicating with clients and third parties

• Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks

• Comfortable working in a busy, deadline-driven environment

• Keen to develop your commercial property knowledge over time

• Based within commuting distance of Bournemouth
