Commercial Property Lawyer - Isle of Wight

Isle of Wight | Full time | Office based | £60,000 to £80,000 depending on experience

RecQuest is recruiting on behalf of a well established law firm on the Isle of Wight that is looking to appoint a senior Commercial Property Lawyer.

This is a significant hire. The firm is looking for someone with genuine commercial property depth who can manage a substantial caseload, work closely with business and developer clients, and play a leading role within the property team. The salary reflects that, and for candidates relocating to the Island, there is a relocation package available to support the move.

The Isle of Wight has a more active commercial property market than many people on the mainland realise. Development projects, tourism-related commercial transactions, agricultural holdings and a growing local business economy create a varied and interesting caseload that you simply would not get in a typical high street practice. The firm is well positioned within that market and has built strong relationships with the key players.

The role

You will manage a varied and senior commercial property caseload, including:

• Acquisitions and disposals of commercial freehold and leasehold premises

• Commercial lease drafting, negotiation and management

• Development work, including option agreements and planning-related transactions

• Landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals, rent reviews and disputes

• Secured lending and finance-related property work

• Due diligence, title investigation and reporting

• Advising business owners, developers and investors on property strategy

This is a role with genuine variety and seniority. You will be trusted with complex matters, direct client relationships and the autonomy to manage your work the way it should be managed.

About you

The firm is looking for a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with substantial commercial property experience.

You will need to be:

• Qualified with a strong track record in commercial property

• Confident handling complex transactions independently

• Experienced across the full range of commercial property work, not just one narrow area

• Commercially aware with strong client relationship skills

• Interested in contributing to business development and the wider growth of the department

• Either based on the Isle of Wight or genuinely willing to relocate
