RecQuest is recruiting a Commercial and Agricultural Property Lawyer for an established firm on the Surrey and Hampshire border.

Agricultural and rural property is one of the more genuinely specialist areas of property law, and one of the harder ones to find good work in. The surrounding countryside supports farms, rural estates, equestrian holdings and land under development pressure, which produces a caseload that simply does not exist in a town centre practice.

The role

• Sales and purchases of farms, land and rural property

• Agricultural tenancies and farm business tenancies

• Rural estate work, including option and promotion agreements

• Commercial property acquisitions, disposals and leases

• Landlord and tenant matters

• Secured lending and agricultural charges

• Advising landowners, farming families and business owners directly

About you

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive

• Commercial property experience, with agricultural or rural exposure or a genuine interest in developing it

• Confident managing complex transactions independently

• Comfortable building long term relationships with landowning clients
